The School of Public Policy at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor to start Fall 2025, with flexibility.

Responsibilities include conducting high-quality research and supporting the research agenda of Professor Anthony Bertelli, the Sherwin Whitmore Chair of Liberal Arts.

Candidates should have research interests in bureaucratic politics and/or European politics, possess advanced proficiency in quantitative methods, and demonstrate a strong background in theory building. Preference will be given for those who can teach statistics, policy analysis, or economics policy in the Master of Public Policy Program and the State, Society, and Public Policy course at the undergraduate level.

This position will include resident instruction and normal university service. Your teaching load during the academic year is three courses for the School of Public Policy. Onsite teaching is an essential function of this job.

A Ph.D. in public policy, political science, or related field is required by the appointment date. This is a non-tenure-track, term position with the possibility of renewal. This position will be filled at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor.

Interested candidates must submit an online application and upload a cover letter outlining their research interests and methodological expertise, a curriculum vitae (CV), and two writing samples that demonstrate relevant skills and research interests.

System limitations allow for a total of 5 documents (5mb per document) as part of your application. Please combine materials to meet the 5-document limit.
