The Sociology and Education Program in the Department of Education Policy & Social Analysis at Teachers College, Columbia University (EPSA) is seeking a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor with expertise in the quantitative analysis of educational inequality, and policies and practices designed to ameliorate it. Such expertise is central to Teachers College’s mission to support the building of a more just and equitable world through multidisciplinary knowledge creation and policy engagement. We are interested in scholars who wish to work in an engaging academic, professional, and social environment, with world-class students in a world-class city. We also seek candidates who can contribute to the growth and development of an increasingly diverse community of students, staff and faculty committed to educational equity.
EPSA includes graduate programs in Economics and Education, History and Education, Politics and Education, Sociology and Education, and Education Policy. The Department's 12 tenure-track faculty, two Research Professors, and two full-time Assistant Professors of Teaching draw upon multiple disciplinary perspectives to explore education policies and practices across the pre-K to higher education spectrum. Outside of the institution, our faculty and students also benefit from the rich cultural, policy, and intellectual environment of New York City.
