REQ_0000072288 Associate Professor or Professor, School of Public Policy The School of Public Policy at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park Campus, invites applications for one tenured or tenure-track position as Associate Professor or Professor of Public Policy.
In addition to maintaining a productive research program, responsibilities include teaching public policy courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and service to the School and University.
Teaching responsibilities may include MPP core courses, policy specialization electives, and undergraduate courses aligned with the candidate’s expertise. A demonstrated ability to teach policy analysis, economics for public policy, statistics for public policy, or public finance is desirable. Teaching responsibilities during the academic year will be consistent with School and College norms and balanced with research and service expectations. Teaching is expected to be in residence and onsite teaching is essential. Online courses may be necessary depending on programmatic needs.
Service responsibilities include participation in assessment activities required for accreditation by NASPAA (Network of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration).
A Ph.D. in Public Policy or related field is required by the appointment date.
Candidates for Associate Professor of Public Policy must have demonstrated excellence as a researcher, scholar, and teacher in a relevant field, and one must have an established reputation in scholarly achievement. Duties include a combination of teaching, research, and service that is commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications.
Candidates for Professor of Public Policy must have demonstrated excellence as a researcher, scholar and teacher in a relevant field, and provide evidence of a substantial record of advanced research as well as leadership in their field of specialization.
