Job Announcement: Director of Evaluation and Research
Attendance Works, a national, non-profit initiative, fiscally sponsored by Community Initiatives in Oakland, CA seeks a Director of Evaluation and Research. Operating virtually, Attendance Works (www.attendanceworks.org) is the nation’s go-to resource for attendance policy and practice. Attendance Works advances success in school and beyond for all students by reducing chronic absence prek-12. Funded by a combination of grants and fees, we employ a diverse team of staff located throughout the United States.
The Director of Evaluation and Research will collaborate closely with Attendance Works’ leadership to lead the organization’s approach to evaluating impact across programs and initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, the creation of dashboards and tools, and efforts to influence and disseminate research. We are looking for a Director of Evaluation and Research who can lead efforts to evaluate our impact, engage in continuous improvement and convert research into action both internally and in the field of k-12 education. Our ideal candidate has knowledge of K-12 education and possibly public health. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with field catalyst organizations.

While many offerings and products are available without charge, including the website, webinars, methods for data collection, toolkits. research and attendance messaging, a variety of fee-based services are also available to schools, districts and/or states. These include individualized consultation, technical assistance, coaching and peer learning networks.
This exempt, benefitted position is full time with a salary range from $141,500 to $168,000 annually. The position is remote with occasional travel for staff retreats and key events.
