The Opportunity:

Central to Urban’s mission is fostering a truly inclusive community that ensures ongoing relevance to a changing world. Urban’s Office of Human Resources seeks a compensation analyst, to support the ongoing design and execution of urban’s compensation programs.

Reporting to the director, Total Rewards and HRIS, the compensation analyst will be responsible for assisting in the overall design, development, and administration of Urban’s compensation programs.

What You’ll Do:

  • Advise on company's compensation philosophy, practices, and programs; conduct in depth analysis to provide compensation expertise and support to management, Talent Acquisition and Finance.

  • Asssist in the administration of the annual merit and bonus process, including updating compensation structures, merit salary matrix, guidelines, and tools; preparing communication materials; and analyzing and collaborating with Talent Acquisition, Finance and management on recommendations.

  • Evaluate jobs, determine salary ranges, and educate management on appropriate job classification and profile. Review proposed promotion and adjustment increases and advice director of total rewards and HRIS on compensation-related challenges.

  • Assist in conducting market assessments for development of pay equity and market adjustments.

  • Participate in annual salary surveys, including preparation and submission of all required data elements.

  • Maintain/update job profiles, salary ranges, compensation grades, merit matrix and guidelines; partner with Talent Acquisition, Payroll and HRIS to ensure accuracy of compensation data in Workday.

  • Ensure effective communication/promotion of the company's compensation programs and practices to HR, Finance, management, employees & candidates.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining metrics and reporting.

  • Proactively support team members across HR and look for opportunities to improve processes, policies, and service levels.

Who You Are:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 3-to 5 years of compensation experience or Human Resources experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced skills in Excel pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.

  • Experience working with Workday (Core Compensation and Advanced Compensation) strongly preferred

  • Experience working with salary benchmarking tools

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

  • Knowledge of, and experience with, compensation principles and concepts, compensation analysis and consulting, including market pricing, compensation plan/structure design, job evaluation and grading, FLSA review

  • Demonstrated maturity in dealing with all levels of employees and the ability to maintain confidentiality of all employee information

  • Strong planning, problem-solving, project management, organizational, and communication skills; able to multi-task

  • Current CCP certification (or willingness to obtain) is a plus

  • Ability to work well with others in fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team-oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment
