The Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs at Baruch College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in climate policy or climate impacts assessment, with a preferred focus on energy or transportation. Candidates should demonstrate high promise as a researcher or have evidence of an active research agenda related to climate policy. Faculty will be expected to teach climate-related and sustainability-related courses, as well as one core course, in at least one of these three programs: Master of Public Administration, Master of International Affairs, and Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs.
This position is part of an interdisciplinary cluster of new faculty across the College studying the impacts of climate change. This cluster will strengthen the existing research base at Baruch, contribute to climate-related academic programs and opportunities for students (such as the Baruch/CUNY Climate Scholars Program), increase career opportunities for our graduates, and enhance collaborations across CUNY. Faculty in the cluster are expected to collaborate with one another, a new Data Science cluster, and appropriate centers and institutes.

Ph.D. degree or equivalent experience in Economics, Environmental Sciences, Geography, Public Health, Public Policy, Sociology, Urban Planning or a closely related field. Preferences will be given to candidates who can thrive in an interdisciplinary environment, show evidence of research productivity or trajectory, and show a demonstrated ability or interest to teach a diverse student population.
